Tribute to My Brother, Jim

I owe much of my success to my older brother, Jim — seen here with his wife, Linda. Jim wasn’t just talented; he was a true pioneer. Long before most people even knew what the internet was, Jim was already mastering it. He logged on back when it was ARPANET, connecting at 300 baud. If you don’t know how slow that is, imagine this page taking days to load. Literally.

Jim eventually became a full‑blown internet guru. One year, he built a website — by himself — in four hours, sitting in a recliner, wearing a robe, drinking coffee, with the TV on in the background. That site went on to be judged the best website on the entire internet for the year, beating out companies like Microsoft and Mercedes‑Benz, who had each spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on their own sites. That was Jim. Quiet brilliance. Effortless mastery.

In our ventures together, Jim handled all the back‑end infrastructure while I served as the face of the operation — the point man. But the truth is, none of it would have worked without him. He gave away his expertise freely to people fighting against meth labs, and he volunteered his skills to organizations helping troubled teens. His mind was unmatched, but his heart was even bigger.

In 2015, Jim was diagnosed with lung cancer. He fought with courage, dignity, and faith until the very end. On May 14th, 2015, he went home to be with the Lord.
Gone, but never forgotten. His fingerprints are still on everything I do.

Jim’s Favorite Bible Verse

1 Samuel 3:10

“Speak, for your servant is listening.”

This page is dedicated to Jim — a brilliant mind, a generous heart, and a faithful servant of God.
